Therapeutic approaches
Therapy should first and foremost be a safe space for you to explore what is most important to you - and what gets in the way. My main priority is to support you in this exploration, and to whatever insight, direction, and growth may come from it. When adding to your toolkit may be helpful in navigating the way forward, I pull from the following approaches:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Builds resilience and flexibility by developing the "mental muscles" of cognitive defusion, present moment awareness, and an attitude of openness and equanimity.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
What it says on the tin! A mindfulness-based approach that develops tolerance of stress, as well as alternative coping strategies for dealing with stress.
Cognitive Processing Therapy
Investigates and resolves cognitive dissonance caused by traumatic or significant life experiences.
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing
An experiential and exposure-based therapy that uses bilateral stimulation to "unlock" and resolve unprocessed traumatic memory and sensation.
